If the Windows Live ID Password Recovery tool does not work, you can try resetting your password. Go to https://accountservices.passport.net/uiresetpw.srf and follow instructions to fill in the form. Click OK.

You will be given two options to reset your Windows Live password.

Method A: Send yourself a password reset e-mail message. This method is only useful in cases when you can automatically log into your account or when you have added another email address to your credentials (provided you have access to that email).

Note: If you added an alternate e-mail address to your credentials, click "Send an e-mail message to my alternate e-mail address"
Click Send Message
Check your inbox and open the e-mail message titled "Reset your Windows Live ID password". Follow instructions stated in this message.

Method B: Provide account information and answer your secret question.

Click on the link "Provide account information and answer your secret question"
You will need to fill in your Country or Region (if asked, also provide ZIP code or postal code) and the answer to your secret question
Once this is done, click Continue
Type in your new password and confirm it, and then click Continue
Click Done.

Your Windows Live password should now be reset (i.e. you should have set the new Windows Live password).
